Crisis Visits
- The motivation behind establishing Hylermed was to provide accessible general psychiatry for urgent in-person assessments and reduce wait times for adolescent psychotherapy referrals during the COVID-19 crisis. Many practitioners have limited availability or prefer virtual consultations. At Hylermed, we offer on-call services and can arrange emergency appointments within seven days or sooner, addressing the need for prompt mental health care.
- In case of an urgent situation or life-threatening emergency, dial 911 immediately or reach out to the closest emergency response center.
Individual Psychotherapy
- Psychotherapy demonstrates a notable cumulative impact and has shown superior efficacy in addressing mental health issues through consecutive sessions.
- Psychotherapy has been shown to reduce hospital stays, healthcare expenses, and dependence on medical services. Multiple studies indicate a notable reduction in blood pressure among patients undergoing psychotherapy compared to those not receiving treatment.
Adolescent Psychotherapy
- The CDC's 2020 Mortality data reveals suicide as the third leading cause of adolescent mortality, following unintentional accidents and homicide. Today's teenagers face numerous challenges, including exposure to sexual content, online harassment, social media addiction, excessive gaming, substance use, body image issues, gender identity concerns, and the psychological impact of COVID-19 isolation.
- Anxiety disorders represent the most prevalent psychiatric condition among teenagers, affecting 31% according to the National Comorbidity Survey. Half of new mental disorders emerge before 18. Despite these concerning statistics, only 50% of adolescents receive treatment.
- Research demonstrates that early intervention substantially enhances results. Hylermed provides assessment, care, and support for adolescents 13 and up. Book a session with our therapist for personalized counseling or neuropsychological evaluations.
Neuropsychological Testing
Neuropsychological assessments examine the breadth and complexity of cognitive functions, IQ levels, perceptual abilities, information processing, reading skills, emotional states, personality traits, memory deficits, and the presence of developmental or neurological disorders.
Neuropsychological testing aims to assess cognitive function and abilities.
- Identify potential developmental disorders
- Determine baseline cognitive abilities
- Clarify pragmatic capabilities and limitations
- Evaluate memory issues linked to aging, stroke, or traumas
- Secure access to educational resources
- Refine or enhance current treatment approaches
- The testing period may vary from four to twelve hours based on the intricacy and array of assessments.
- A comprehensive analysis of these results will be delivered to you once a psychologist has processed and evaluated the collected information.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurological, cognitive, and behavioral condition affecting 4-10% of Americans. Notably, less than one-third of individuals with this disorder receive a diagnosis.
Research indicates that individuals with ADHD significantly influence societal dynamics and structures.
- Drug addiction occurs at double the usual rate
- Coexisting mental health issues are nine times more prevalent than in the general public
- Achieving a bachelor's degree is 75% less probable
- Approximately one-third of incarcerated individuals are believed to have ADHD
- Joblessness rates are elevated
- Children with ADHD have over twice the likelihood of concurrent autism, tics, and depression
